I founded Writing It Right For You (“WIRFY”) in July 2008, right in the middle of the Great Recession. I had been a public school and university educator and in sales leadership for over thirty years, and when I decided I didn’t want to work for anyone else anymore, I put the two skill sets together to build a writing and editing business for myself. I offered copywriting and editing services to individuals and small businesses.

Actually, what I did was sit in front of my computer for the entire month of June 2008 to teach myself what I needed to know before opening my doors right after the July 4th holiday. I made my own one-page static website, ordered some business cards, decided on the services I would offer, and voilá, I was in business.

The company grew beyond my expectations, and within just a few months I not only made my monthly income goals, but expanded beyond my city, state, and the country, gaining my first international client less than three months after I opened my doors.

Many of my clients were writers who needed their manuscripts edited, but did not know how to get their books published, so in 2012, I started [Detroit Ink Publishing] (“DIP”) to help writers become published authors. I moved the manuscript editing component of Writing It Right For You to Detroit Ink Publishing.

In 2014, I realized that many of my clients were creative professionals (writers, graphic designers, musicians, etc.) who were good at their art but not so good starting, growing, and maintaining their businesses, so I started my third business, [Your Business Your Brand Creatively] (“YB2C”) to help my clients with their branding, marketing, web design, and social media projects.

By 2017, it became evident that many of the services offered by WIRFY and YB2C were duplicates, so I made the decision to merge my first company with my third company.

My team and I remain excited and committed to providing you with the highest level of services for your copywriting and editing needs, while still providing manuscript preparation and publishing services at Detroit Ink Publishing.

Just click here to go over to YB2C where WIRFY now resides, and thank you for about a decade of support and being wonderful clients.
