Allan Brauer is a freelance writer, editor, project manager and business consultant. Allan’s career encompasses the disciplines of human resources, procurement, and operations management in a variety of industries, culminating in a role as procurement manager for Verizon. Allan supported Verizon’s Human Resources management team in the sourcing, contracting and vendor management of a portfolio of high-profile HR service providers, temporary labor and professional services firms, overseeing more than a quarter-billion dollars in annual expenditures.
Allan also has a lifetime of experience in political and social movements for change. As a volunteer, Allan has canvassed, phone-banked, recruited and trained other volunteers, built on-line social networks, and blogged for political campaigns and progressive causes. This background informs Allan’s understanding of the importance of authentic and honest communication that answers an audience’s concerns and objections and motivates them to act on a call to action.
Allan holds a BA in Communication Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Allan earned the A.P.P. (Accredited Purchasing Practitioner) from the ISM and the SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) from SHRM.
